Purpose of the Role – Data Capturing

The primary aim of the data capturing position is to ensure accurate and timely documentation of critical information. This includes processing work orders, verifying asset costing, and handling data from customers who engage with Johannesburg Water through walk-ins or call-ins. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for managing various types of paperwork associated with water management.

Key Responsibilities – Data Capturing

In this role, you’ll assist both call-in and walk-in clients by creating work orders. Additionally, if a foreman is unavailable, you’ll help the craftsman assign necessary tasks, ensuring that work continues smoothly without delays.

4. Reporting Data Issues

Another critical responsibility is notifying the appropriate depot staff, such as the Operations Manager or Foreman, about any data-related issues. You will help them resolve any identified problems promptly and efficiently, improving workflow and reducing errors.

5. Interdepartmental Data Sharing

Collaboration is key in this role, as you’ll be responsible for sharing relevant water and sewer data with other departments. This ensures that all departments are on the same page regarding important information.

6. Document Management

Daily correspondence filing is another task you’ll handle, ensuring that all paperwork is organized and easily accessible. This helps in maintaining an accurate historical record of communications and transactions.

7. Administrative Assistance

Occasionally, you may be required to fill in for the switchboard operator or receptionist. Additionally, you’ll offer support to the IMIS Administrator when necessary, contributing to the smooth functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications and Experience – Data Capturing

To qualify for this role, the following criteria are essential:
