Key Requirements for the Position
To excel as a Truck Driver in the Parks Section, candidates must meet the following qualifications and competencies:
Educational and Licensing Requirements
- Minimum of Grade 10 education.
- A valid Code 10 driver’s license with a PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
- A Code 14 driver’s license is an added advantage.
Experience
- At least two (2) years of driving experience within local government, particularly in a Parks Section role, is highly beneficial.

1. Ensuring Team Safety and Productivity
- Oversee the Parks Section team to ensure safety and productivity during tasks.
- Create a secure working environment before any activity begins.
- Help the tree-trimming crew maintain safety by cutting branches and trees effectively.

2. Vehicle Operation and Traffic Compliance
- Drive the truck in compliance with traffic laws and operational safety standards.
- Ensure the vehicle is moved strategically between work locations to optimize efficiency.
3. Maintenance and Care of the Vehicle
- Perform regular inspections and routine maintenance of the truck to minimize damage and breakdowns.
4. Task Coordination and Execution
- Plan and execute daily work schedules in coordination with the assistant foreman or other superiors.
