Responsibilities of a FICA Compliance Administrator

As a FICA Compliance Administrator, your role is critical in ensuring the organization adheres to the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FIC Act) and internal compliance procedures. Here’s what your day-to-day will entail:

Ensuring Compliance

  • Monitor online client activities and identify any irregular patterns that may indicate money laundering or fraudulent activities.
  • Verify that all cash transactions (singular or aggregated) are reported to the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) within the mandated 48-hour period.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze and distribute queries to relevant teams daily.
  • Escalate unresolved queries to senior management to maintain procedural compliance.
  • Monitor all GOAML accounts daily for alerts or notifications, ensuring timely actions are taken.

Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with team members to improve internal compliance procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and independence in all compliance-related matters.

Additional Responsibilities – Compliance Administrators

  • Support management with ad hoc tasks.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for key stakeholders.
