Job Purpose

The General Worker role is essential in maintaining compliance with permit regulations at transfer stations and landfill sites. The responsibilities include site cleanliness, waste monitoring, directing vehicles to appropriate offloading zones, and maintaining infrastructure such as offices, access roads, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Maintenance and Cleanliness

  • Keep landfill and transfer station areas clean and orderly.
  • Maintain gardens, pathways, and dumping sites in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Regularly clean offices, site infrastructure, and equipment.
  • Ensure that all access roads remain clear of debris.

2. Waste Inspection and Compliance

  • Verify that waste delivered to the site complies with permit requirements.
  • Inspect incoming waste trucks and ensure adherence to disposal guidelines.
  • Direct vehicles to appropriate disposal locations to maintain efficiency and organization.
  • Report any non-compliance or unauthorized waste to supervisors.

3. Health and Safety Compliance

  • Follow all occupational health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Keep stormwater drainage channels clear and free from blockages.
  • Remove weeds and obstructions when required.
  • Report any hazardous conditions or safety violations immediately.

Essential Application Requirements
