Purpose of the Role

The selected candidates will play a pivotal role in supporting our RNC (Rail Network Construction) team. Their primary responsibility will be to assist in the efficient execution of maintenance and construction projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: Minimum of Grade 9.
• Experience: At least 6 months of relevant work experience in a construction or maintenance environment.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Candidates with RPL will be given due consideration.
• Knowledge and Skills:
  • Familiarity with construction site operations.
  • Understanding of tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the industry.
  • Basic communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and appropriately use various tools and equipment for specific tasks.
• Physical and Medical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit and will be required to undergo a medical examination to confirm their fitness for duty.

Key Responsibilities

The General Worker will be entrusted with a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of site activities. These include:

• Material Handling: Efficiently loading, unloading, and transporting materials as required.
• Assistance to Skilled Workers: Providing support to skilled personnel during construction and maintenance activities.
• Tool and Equipment Management: Ensuring that all tools and equipment are used correctly and safely, and reporting any defects or issues promptly.
• Site Maintenance: Keeping the worksite clean and organized by removing debris, stacking materials, sweeping floors, and disposing of excess or rubble materials.
