Job Details

  • Position Title: Farm Aid (Permanent)
  • Salary: R131,265 per annum (Level 02)
  • Available Locations and Reference Numbers:
    • Madzivhandila College of Agriculture – Ref No: LDARD 429/2024
    • Towoomba Research Centre – Ref No: LDARD 43/9/2024
    • Mara Research Centre – Ref No: LDARD 44/9/2024

Essential Requirements – Permanent Farm Aid

To qualify for these Farm Aid positions, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications: Basic literacy and numeracy (ABET/AET level 2) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with knowledge of Batho Pele Principles.
  • Experience: Prior experience in farm work and a general understanding of diverse farm activities will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities – Permanent Farm Aid

Successful candidates will perform essential duties focused on enhancing crop and livestock production, as well as maintaining farm infrastructure. Responsibilities include:

  1. Crop Production: Assist in routine tasks associated with growing and caring for crops.
  2. Livestock Management: Carry out regular duties related to livestock care, feeding, and upkeep.
  3. General Farming Duties: Engage in daily farm activities, ensuring the farm operates smoothly.
  4. Infrastructure Maintenance: Support the upkeep of essential farm structures and equipment.

These roles are integral to the agricultural community, requiring hands-on engagement with various farm tasks.
