This program, conducted in partnership with the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, aims to equip participants with valuable work experience over 12 months. Job Summary
Clover’s YES Learner (Merchandiser) program offers participants the chance to gain hands-on experience in merchandising while developing essential professional skills. This initiative not only enhances employability but also contributes to personal growth and community development.
Key Program Details:
- Duration: 12 months
- Location: Multiple Clover branches
- Objective: Provide practical work experience and skill enhancement for unemployed youth
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 certification.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in Business English.
- Work Availability: Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Participants in the program will perform a variety of duties, ensuring that Clover products are consistently well-represented in-store and that stock is efficiently managed. Key responsibilities include:
Stock Control
- Implement correct stock control measures in-store and backup areas.
- Minimize returns and document them per store work plans.
- Avoid out-of-stock situations by placing accurate and timely orders.
Merchandising
- Ensure shelves are clean, neat, and stocked according to store flow plans.
- Adhere to shelving guidelines and maintain product placement as per provided planograms.
- Maintain product visibility with effective use of point-of-sale material.
Equipment and Product Maintenance
- Keep fridges and storage areas in optimal condition.
- Control crates and equipment as per company policy.

Relationship Management
- Establish and sustain positive relationships with store management, Area Managers, head office staff, and customers.
- Collaborate with fellow Merchandisers to maintain a cohesive working environment.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements, orders, and other merchandising activities.
- Exploit opportunities to enhance product visibility and presence in-store.
