Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
- A Grade 12 certificate is mandatory.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly advanced MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational abilities with customer-oriented skills.
- Familiarity with telephone etiquette is essential.
- Additional Qualifications:
- A valid code 08 driver’s license will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to work extended hours under pressure.
Key Responsibilities of a Data Capturer
As a Data Capturer for the Department of Roads and Public Works, your duties will include:
- Data Assessment and Verification:
- Evaluate reported data against the Compliance Assessment Report.
- Verify the ownership of submitted project data.
- Data Processing and Analysis:
- Determine compliant work opportunities from reported data.
- Calculate Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs) for reported projects.
- Reporting:
- Submit detailed data capture reports to the Monitoring and Reporting Manager.
- Database Management:
- Compile and maintain databases for EPWP–compliant and non-compliant reports.
- Create a database of all beneficiaries recorded in the reporting systems.
- Filing and Documentation:
- Develop and manage a filing system for each sector and public body.
