REQUIREMENTS
Basic literacy or Grade 10, Grade 12 preferred. Valid driver’s license a plus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (bilingual required). Ability to follow instructions, good physical health, basic skills for physical work. Hard-working and self-disciplined individual. 1 year of relevant experience in general work related to Waste Management within a Local Government Authority.
DUTIES
Perform litter control and general labor at a waste disposal facility. Maintain landfill and operations. Assist at recycling center as needed. Aid spotters in directing landfill traffic. Assist customers and the public with waste disposal. Remove metal and sharp objects to prevent customer flat tires. Safely store equipment and protective clothing.
Clean and remove weeds from pavements. Load and off-load materials and equipment as required. Remove refuse from households. Sweep streets, sidewalks, taxi and bus ranks. Collect litter from streets, main roads, and public spaces.
Clear building rubble from public areas. Empty public dustbins. Clean rubbish from buildings, streets, taxi and bus stops, and open spaces. Clean municipal buildings and facilities. Perform other duties within the waste management section as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Follow legal instructions to ensure productivity. Complete additional tasks as requested by management.
