Locations: Region A – G Depots, Traffic Signals and Traffic Markings, Resurfacing Depot, Fleet and Plant Depot, Motorways Depot, Asphalt and Laboratory
Reference Number: 01/2025/01
Salary Range: R132,056.87 – R198,058.31 per annum (Basic Salary)
Job Type: Permanent

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- Grade 10 or NQF equivalent.
- Work Experience:
- Six months of experience handling road construction, maintenance, and/or operating machinery or equipment.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Understanding of road safety protocols.
- Physical stamina for manual labor tasks.
- Problem-solving abilities to address on-site challenges effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Road Maintenance and Traffic Management
- Direct traffic to ensure public safety near work zones.
- Install and manage temporary road signs, cones, and barricades.
Construction and Repairs
- Repair and build concrete kerbing and stormwater Kerb Inlets (KIs).
- Assist with pulling concrete slabs and cleaning blockages in stormwater systems.
Site Cleanup and Vegetation Management
- Clear earth channels and clean tools for roadwork.
- Trim vegetation, mow lawns, and remove debris from roadways.
Specialized Roadworks
- Repair potholes and footways on tarred or gravel surfaces.
- Execute resurfacing, patching, crack sealing, and road marking tasks.
- Build or repair manholes and speed humps.
