Purpose of the Data Capturer Role
As a Data Capturer at Johannesburg Water, your primary duty will be to ensure the accuracy and timely submission of data. You will handle data entries for work orders, asset costing, and customer interactions, including both walk-ins and call-ins. Your work will support the essential operational management of Johannesburg Water.
In this critical role, you will handle a variety of duties to support the smooth operation of the water management system. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Data Entry in SAP Plant Maintenance System
- Accurately input data into the SAP Plant Maintenance system. This includes entering work orders and asset costs to ensure data integrity and efficient tracking of water and sewerage operations.
2. Work Order Management
- Once data is entered, your role will involve routing or assigning the work orders to the appropriate Operations Manager or Foreman. You will also assist craftsmen with work order assignments when foremen are unavailable, ensuring seamless operations.
3. Data Problem Resolution
- You will work diligently to fix any data errors in the SAP system. This ensures that depots can process transactions accurately and maintain high standards in water management processes.
4. Customer Assistance
- Handle customer interactions, both walk-ins and call-ins, by creating new work orders and addressing any concerns they may have regarding water and sewer services.
5. Collaboration with Operations Teams
- Inform the Operations Manager or Foreman about any issues regarding data quality. You’ll also play a key role in highlighting and helping to resolve data errors, ensuring that all team members are aligned with correct procedures.
6. Cross-Departmental Communication
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate data exchange related to water and sewer management, helping to streamline communication and enhance operational efficiency.
7. Daily Administrative Tasks
- Perform daily correspondence filing to ensure all paperwork is organized. When required, you’ll step in to assist the switchboard operator or receptionist.
8. Support for IMIS Administrator
- Provide essential support to the IMIS Administrator whenever necessary, further ensuring the smooth functionality of Johannesburg Water’s internal systems.
