Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for the Rainbow Truck Driver position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license.
- Extensive experience driving trucks and other vehicles.
- Knowledge of road safety, environmental regulations, and animal welfare standards.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, including inspecting and cleaning trucks regularly.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties designed to ensure smooth operations, high safety standards, and timely deliveries. Below are the primary responsibilities:
Staff and Logistics Transportation
- Transport staff between farms and to union meetings as required.
- Provide backup driving support for utility drivers.
Safe and Efficient Deliveries
- Ensure on-time delivery of products to farmers.
- Plan and coordinate pickups and deliveries to maximize productivity.
- Transport eggs from laying facilities to hatcheries and deliver chicks to both internal and external clients.
Vehicle Maintenance and Security
- Perform daily inspections of trucks and cars to ensure they are in excellent condition.
- Clean and disinfect vehicles to maintain hygiene standards.
- Secure vehicles by locking trucks and storing keys in designated areas.
Product Handling and Monitoring
- Maintain accurate stock records for eggs and chicks.
- Follow correct loading and unloading protocols to ensure the safe transportation of products.
- Monitor air conditioning temperatures during egg and chick transportation and report any irregularities.
Operational Support
- Purchase materials and spare parts from suppliers when required.
- Identify and report any deviations or cost-saving opportunities related to truck operations.
