Main Purpose:
As a Truck Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the driver during loading, unloading, and safe maneuvering of the vehicle. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols and operational procedures to ensure glass is handled with care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the driver in identifying the safest locations for loading and unloading.
- Perform quality checks during loading to ensure compliance with standards.
- Secure loads according to company procedures, double-checking safety during trips.
- Load and offload glass products safely and efficiently on level surfaces.
- Report any damages to property immediately to the driver or supervisor.
- Restrain and secure loads before departing from customer locations.
- Provide assistance when reversing or maneuvering the truck in confined or challenging areas.
- Manage and verify documentation to ensure proper handling of paperwork.
- Adhere to environmental, safety, and housekeeping regulations.
- Support additional tasks as assigned by the factory supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- A valid Code 10 driver’s license (with PrDP) will be advantageous.

- Proven experience in handling and moving dangerous goods.
