SAMWU Regional Chairperson Lebogang Ndawo stated that negotiations were successful, emphasizing that the workers’ imposed shifts would be removed, ensuring timely payment for hired events. Ndawo urged Metrobus to expedite the procurement of a new bus fleet due to the aging current fleet experiencing mechanical issues. While some buses were operational on Friday morning, commuters faced confusion regarding specific routes. One UJ student mentioned uncertainty about her bus to Auckland Park. Despite the disruptions, Metrobus assured that all routes would be back to normal by the afternoon.
